what i feel iv learnt from this?

I have really enjoyed this project this semester and really feel like it’s pushed my boundaries in both my Photoshop skills and writing.
I came across a number of problems along the way, the first being a mind block when trying to explain the reasoning to choosing a thyme and explaining my inspiration. I had a vision in my head and I hope though face charts and mood boards it is clear enough. I now know I really need to explain my decisions in future a lot more clearly. The second was my second shoot, which became a third shoot a day before deadline. I am my biggest critic and I wish I had invested more time and possibly a photographer to help me. Finally I am really struggling and still am as I write this with trying to write a piece that goes with my photos. Prior to my deadline I had a one to one where I had rough written a piece on my choice of products to help dry skin and my preferred products to achieve clear looking skin. One of which is my product shot. Unfortunately with the advice it wouldn’t be suitable. So for this issue I wish I had more time to just brainstorm again.
All in all I am reasonably happy with my work, it’s given me the basic understanding of editorial beauty and cant wait to broaden my knowledge.

new shoot outcome, am i happy?

So today I am one day from submission, and I have redone the original Sand Dunes photos. Iv used a new model purely because I was short on time and the orginal model was busy and I am using more gold in the eyebrows to illesrate more definition and texture.

Am I happy with this? NO! just a big fat no. I cant quite put my finger on my problem with both photo shoots. The quality of photos with the first shoot is obvisely not great and the second although the makeup was more defined it went off course.

Having done this tho I have gone back though my orginal shoot and have narrowed done a few I do appreciate and and edited them hopfully I can come to a dission soon.

heresa few photo from todays and last week shoots.

I wont lie, I hated the outcome if this shoot! I had a nightmare with the camera and it all felt rushed. These are the unedited photos.
I am going to redo the shot as I know that i produce something beautiful and just.
I am a little sad that I am having to redo this so late in the game.

my explanation for my resurch

I want my work to not be obvious to the viewer. I want it to conjure up feeling and thoughs that allow the audience to make their own assumption on the work that I will creat.

The greats like Alexandra McQueen and van gough are prime examples of artists creating a foundation of inspiration for the viewer to build on.

I hope that my work does just this as I feel I lose the power of my work by having to explane my reasoning.

Alex box

This Alex box makeup and hair really inspires my "Diamonds Are A Girls Bestfriend"  look and mood board. The skin is flawless almost alien but also has a porcelain look to it.
I really appreciate the reflections as well it it's a compleat oppersite to the bare Matt skin.

Translating as ‘rough pearl’, the baroque movement of the 1600s was defined by dramatic intimations of grandeur. Of her interpretation, Box says, “I was inspired by decaying flaked paintings, the adornments reference the jewels of the time.”

FKA twigs artwork by Mathew Stone

What I like about FKA Twigs work is the merging of images. It shows how much can be produced put of the studio and thought photoshop.

This has really inspired my idea of the reptile look for dry skin.

Either I will try to produce somthing similar to this or collaborate with an artist and have them draw me something along these lines.

inspiration for clear skin

Iv been using clean and clear for years now, and when i have the odd few weeks of not using it my skin becomes clogedand spotty! im a women in her late twentys so for me its my life saver!!

Why am i telling you this i hear?!
well everytime i brain stormed clear skin, I kept thinking back to that cool tingling feeling I get on my face when using the clean and clear!
Its like taking a run in a snow storm. I wanted my work to visulise the feeling of freshness and lucsurious like cool Diamonds and it was at this fleeting thought my idea became a working progress.

Inspiration for "Dry Skin" campains for summer skin

My inspiration for my shoot for Dry Skin came from many directions even though many wernt actually based on dry skin i just liked the photography and how it made me feel about the product.

Bobbi Brown

I remeber a while ago I came across a campain by Bobbi Brown and there new product beach body oil.The photos were beautiful, and flawless.

SKIN

SKIN

Ive chosen skin as my thyme because when Im looking for inspirational photography it was the main thing I kept being drawn back to, Flawless fresh skin but I then had questions running around my head such as "how was flawless skin achieved?" Which products were used? What are my favourite products and why? With this in mind Iv wanted to dealv into the different skin types, such as combination, oily and dry.

Skin is an amazing atom of the human body and all too often is forgotten or miss treated by its owner.

my original concept on skin was to search and research scaring i.e though accidents but haven spoken to Sarah today I have really striped back my ideas and feel that just looking at combination skin, i.e dry skin, oily skin and normal will provided beautiful photography and editorial pictures needed to create a well formed blog.

I feel really excited and passionate about this journey and am itching to start. I am aiming to create three quality posts with stunning pictures that reflect my in depth thinking and visualisation.
